Thème : Un jeune psychiatre prodige (Huang Xiaoming) va se trouver face-à-face avec un violent psychopathe, diaboliquement intelligent (Lau Ching Wan).

Xiaoming will play psychiatrist Li Yaowen, who is in charge of providing medical treatment for his mentally ill patient, Fan Guowen, played by Sean. Fan Guowen had previously murdered his wife, and when he lapses again, Yaowen is pressured to conceal the truth, even if doing so places his beloved daughter in danger.@huang-xiaoming.info



While this is Lee's first time in the director's chair, he is already a well-known and respected member of Hong Kong's film industry, serving as Assistant Director for Tsui Hark, Andrew Lau and Derek Yee himself over the years.
Lee apparently first showed the script for Insanity to Yee in 2008, and has spent the past five years reworking it to meet Yee's expectations. Clearly the veteran director behind One Nite In Mongkok, Protege and The Great Magician is now confident that Lee's script is strong enough, and is giving him a shot at directing the film too. @http://twitchfilm.com octobre 2013

Guidé par une réalisation et une photo impeccable, le film nous guide dans un univers sombre fait de paranoïa et de faux semblants. Sans réel temps morts, on suit le parcours des personnages, qui bien entendu dans ce genre de film, n'est pas vraiment ce qu'il semble être.

Lau Ching Wan prouve ici une énième fois son talent, face à un Huang un peu lisse mais correct. Bien qu'au final, l'histoire soit assez classique, je ne me suis pas ennuyé même si certains twists sont prévisibles.
