Leslie Legacy Association 追.張國榮
Leslie Legacy Association Ltd. is a non-profit making organization formed after 1st April, 2003 dedicated to extend the legacy of Mr. Leslie Cheung.
Please find below a series of activities we have organized so far for Mr Leslie Cheung :
• 5th April, 2003 - Candle Light Vigil held outside Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Central • 12th Sept, 2003 - “In Sweet Memories of Leslie” in Room 601 at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre to celebrate Leslie’s 47th birthday. Renowned lyricist Mr. Lin Xi joined us to share his sweet memories of Leslie (attended by 400 fans from HK, China, Taiwan, Japan, etc.)
• Dec 2003 ~ Mar 2004 - Appeal to Hong Kong Tourism Board & Hong Kong Film Award Association pertaining to Leslie’s nomination on the Avenue of Stars & Lifetime Achievement Award respectively (3,500 signature cards have been collected from Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, HK & other countries)
• 1st April, 2004 - Candle Light Memorial on the podium of Jardine House in Central under the support of Jardine Group (attended by more than 1,000 fans from HK, China, Japan, Korea, etc.)
• 2nd April, 2004 - Private screening of 4 RTHK films at the Hong Kong Film Archive and the films screened were: “From Ashes to Ashes”, “My Young Concubine”, “City of Sand” and “Woman 33” (attended by 400 fans from different countries)
• 27th April, 2004 - “Leslie Cheung will shine forever on the Avenue of Stars” (LLA has co-ordinated with HK Tourism Board to enable fans to send flowers for Leslie during the opening ceremony of the Avenue of Stars & LLA has made the necessary arrangements on behalf of overseas Leslie fans)
• 11th Sept, 2004 - “A Date With Leslie Legacy” Screening : screening of 4 RTHK films at the Hong Kong Film Archive and the films screened were “City of Sand”, “Woman 33”, “15.16” and “Fast Knot”. The director of “15.16” and “Fast Knot”, Mr. Mak Kei On, joined us in one of screening sessions talking about Leslie.
• 12th Sept, 2004 - “A Date With Leslie Legacy” Gathering : celebrating Leslie’s 48th birthday at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The famous creative writer/director, Mr. Edward Lam joined us sharing his thoughts about Leslie. For your information, there has not been an official Leslie’s fans club since 1989. Numerous online & offline fans clubs have been formed in different countries spontaneously. Among those, LLA is one which is based in HK yet has an international linkage. Subsidiaries & affiliates exist in Japan, Korea, Italy & China. LLA is able to mobilize fans from different countries to participate in Leslie memorial activities.
Members of LLA are all voluntary. We come from different professional backgrounds yet we all share our deepest gratitude & respect to Leslie for all his remarkable performances & immanent virtues and we all share one goal to spread & extend his legacy. Based on Leslie’s role model, we aim high to be organized, resourceful, innovative and dedicated with a drive for excellence.
