|
For Americans, Rush Hour 3 is a big sequel with lots of buzz. For the more select fans who followed Jackie Chan's career in Hong Kong, there is even bigger news about a sequel to one of Chan's most popular series.
"Next year, April the 1st, I start a new movie," Chan revealed. "I direct, I write my own script. It's called Operation Condor 3: Chinese Zodiac. Big action." The Operation Condor series features Chan as an Indiana Jones-style adventurer pursuing mythical artifacts, with Chan's trademark style of action scenes. Perhaps the biggest find in part three will be Chan's return to directing.
"I haven't been directing for more than 10 years, even though I'm helping all my directors on the set. But now this time I'm totally in control. I write my own script. You'll see what happens.
This may be the most personal Jackie Chan movie in a decade. "Directing you can do a lot of things. I can put all my messages inside, I can put all my ideas inside. It's the feeling I create something."
Meanwhile, Chan is currently filming The Forbidden Kingdom, a Western take on the classic Chinese "Journey to the West" tale, with Jet Li and Collin Chou. He can also be seen soon in Brett Ratner's Rush Hour 3, out August 10.

|
He talked about AOG3 in 2006. Maybe. I guess it's more like a story about 12 Chinese Zodiac head statues that has been stolen from China during the times of Western Invasion of China during the early 1900s. Up to now, only two Zodiac heads has been recovered by the Chinese government through an auction.
Jackie said while promoting TM in 2006 in Mainland China, that he wants to write a script about how he tries to steal those stolen statues back from the countries where the statues are currently stored (which in fact, no one knows those exact countries). He said that he cannot do the stealing in real life, but he can do it in movies. The original director was meant to be Stanley Tong.
Later on, he seems to talk more about doing a sequel of AOG, and about how he wanted to direct again. Fankie, when asked by the Chinese press, sort of confirmed the idea that a possible project with Jackie was coming up, but didn't say whether it would AOG3 nor revealed anymore info.
So, I think the script might really be about how Jackie steal those statues back. Even if it is not called AOG3, that very idea of stealing definitely reminds us of Jackie's Asian Hawk character in AOG and AOG:OP. Source: Anthropy

Chinese action film legend Jackie Chan will write, direct and star in the third episode of "Armor of God" series, ten years after his directorial debut in the first "Armor."
Jackie Chan released the news when promoting his latest work "Rush Hour 3," which came out in theaters in the United States on August 3.
The third "Armor" will be of a complete classical Jackie Chan style, says Frankie Chan, executive director of the film, according to the Beijing News.
"There won't be many special effects in the film, as Jackie is strong enough to do the action part himself," Frankie Chan says, "Actually he will challenge himself for something new."
The film revolves around the Kung Fu star fighting against the evil power in a worldwide chase for a Chinese treasure. In addition to making it another action blockbuster, the film is to shed more light on the inner feelings of the figures.
According to Frankie Chan, the film's leading actress will be a Chinese beauty who speaks English perfectly well. And she will be accompanied by two other female roles speaking French and Mandarin respectively.
Shooting is anticipated to start next April, after Jackie Chan finishes acting in Hong Kong director Tung-Shing Yee's "Shinjuku Incident."

Euuuh ' And she will be accompanied by two other female roles speaking French and Mandarin respectively'...

Jackie Chan to direct action adventure Chinese Zodiac and Tsui Hark plans Detective Dee sequel.
Chinese production powerhouse Huayi Brothers Media today unveiled a slate of nine films including Tai Chi (working title), which will star and be produced by Jet Li and will be directed by Stephen Feng; Indiana Jones style action adventure, Chinese Zodiac, to be directed by Jackie Chan and produced by Stanley Tong with co-producers Emperor Motion Pictures; and Tsui Hark’s Detective Dee sequel.
Announcing the slate as the company’s High Hope projects, Huayi Brothers CEO Wang Zhonglei said the main aims of High Hope are working across diverse genres and collaborating with new directors. Huayi Brothers is well known for producing Feng Xiaogang’s Chinese blockbusters such as Aftershock and the If You Are the One franchise. The 2011 slate is seen as Huayi’s attempt to shift its dependence away from Feng Xiaogang’s films.
In addition to Tsui Hark’s Detective Dee sequel, Huayi will produce two other sequels, Painted Skin 2 to be directed by Wuershan (The Butcher, the Chef and the Swordsman) and the previously reported Love in Space, the sequel to Hot Summer Days, to be co-produced with Fox International and Hong Kong’s Sundream Motion Pictures.
Huayi will collaborate with Hong Kong Mandarin Pictures on director Ronny Yu’s historic action drama Generals of the Yang Family (working title) with Raymond Wong producing.
Two Taiwanese filmmakers will also join Huayi Brothers High Hope projects. Doze Niu (Monga) will direct a romantic comedy titled Love, about three romances between Taiwan and mainland China. Tom Lin (Winds of September) will direct his second feature Starry Starry Night. Adapted from Taiwanese author Jimmy Liao’s popular illustrated book, the film is a co-production between Huayi and Taipei-based Atomic Cinema and will start shooting next month.
Huayi will also invest on Hong Kong Pang Ho-cheung’s new romantic comedy Spoiled Women Are Happiest (working title), which is adapted from a Taiwanese best-selling book.
Wang Zhonglei also said that Huayi’s slate also includes an untitled Feng Xiaogang project, which is likely to be a social drama about a Chinese famine in 1942, scheduled to starting shooting in October.
Among the nine announced projects, Tai Chi, Chinese Zodiac and Generals of the Yang Family are blockbuster projects with budgets set at $15m (RMB100m) or above.
Painted Skin 2, Starry Starry Night and Love in Space will be released in 2011 while the rest projects have release dates set before the end of 2012.Source : http://www.screendaily.com/news/asia-pacif...5024243.article** Et pour une poignée de liens en plus : http://www.yonhapnews.co.kr/entertainment/...7167000005.HTMLhttp://biz.heraldm.com/common/Detail.jsp?n...=20110407001008http://movie.daum.net/movieperson/ArticleR...leList_all=texthttp://movie.daum.net/movieperson/ArticleR...leList_all=text** Perso', j'aime bien cet acteur coréen.

|
non c'est bien stanley tong qui a réalisé police story 3 et 4(aka first strike).Benny chan a réalisé new police story |
