I want to look deeper into Hong Kong Action films, and I usually like paying attention to certain Directors in the case of Hong Kong Action choreographers/action directors as well. Just curious what directors would you consider essential or simply very talented? Preferably they have some sort of style that sets their films apart from other directors. I'll list the ones I'm already familiar with as a start. King Hu Chang Cheh Lau Kar Leung Yuen Wo Ping Sammo Hung Jackie Chan Corey Yuen Tsui Hark John Woo Ringo Lam Johnny To Wong Kar Wai Nam Nai Choi Thanks! |

Thanks for the ! Perhaps not a good director especially stacked up against those others, but I find his films to be a lot of fun and pretty unique. Also I forgot to mention, since a lot of these directors have tons of movies under their name, if you could also recommend several of their best films for each that would also be really helpful! Preferably ranging from their earlier work to their later work if they stay consistently good throughout their career. |
