Selon des déclarations ci et là, il semblerait que cette fois ce soit la bonne.
Johnnie To (qui annonce sa retraite à 65 ans) : To is planning to film Election 3 in 2015, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the release of the original Election. This is exciting news because Election and its sequel are both great films. And I am hoping that all of the survivors of the two triad elections in Election and Election 2 will come back for a reunion. Expect more bloodshed and brutal deaths. (@http://twitchfilm.com)

CS: Now that you've had success with the first two "Election" movies, do you see wrapping them up as a trilogy?
To: What's important is that "Election 1 and 2" is not really about a continuation of the characters, but it's really about how Hong Kong as a society has evolved during these years. If down the line, we see Hong Kong society continuing to move onto the next phase, and I'm there to see it, that might inspire me to do another movie about "Election" and the way gangsters are under that new environment. If the future development of Hong Kong as a society is worth being documented, I will make "Election 3"; otherwise, I won't make it. Il m'aurait fallu mettre : "A prendre au double conditionnel".
Rien pu trouver de plus pour le moment.

Par contre pour le projet, cela semble bel et bon. Le réalisateur a peint l'affiche (celle en premier) - je n'arrive plus à mettre la main sur la vidéo - en quoi il a signé son engagement que diantre !
