Update: Chinese Films is running with the story now so, hey, the movie must really be happening! They say that the studio behind the Ip Man movies, Pegasus Motion Pictures, is hoping for a 2013 release for Ip Man 3 in 3D. Lynn Hung (Ip Man 2) and Yu Bo (known for TV roles in China) are set to join the cast.

BREAKING NEWS: Pegasus Motion Pictures is promoting the film at Cannes 2012. They’ve revealed the budget is set at $36 million. In addition, director Wilson Yip plans to scout the USA and Europe to find the best 3D technicians to use on the film. Producers are talking to Simon Yam to see if he’ll return for the third installment. Shooting should begin December 2012 with the hopes of releasing the film in late 2013. source 18 mai 2012
