Synopsis
Jackie Chan starred, directed, and choreographed this amazing masterpiece, against which all his other works have been compared.

Set in early 1900's China, Project A involves the government's Marine Forces failed attempts stop a band of pirate-smugglers led by the evil Lo. After being forced to resign, Jackie becomes frustrated over the Marines' inability to protect the innocent from the pirates. Determined to stop them himself, Jackie teams up with an old buddy (international sensation Sammo Hung!) and a former rival - the local police officer (Yuen Biao) against whom Jackie squared off in a barroom brawl, and who got Jackie kicked out of the Marine Force. Together the three declare war on Lo and his band of pirate cutthroats!

The action sequences are magnificent, featuring a mind-blowing acrobatic bar fight, a spectacular bicycle chase, and an aquatic battle finale that must be seen to be believed.

Project A is Jackie Chan at his best. A must-see!

Synopsis

Y a-t'il d'autres membres du forum qui ont été déçus par Action Force 10 ? Que ce soit un peu ou beaucoup d'ailleurs ?
Je m'attendais en fait à un film qui soit directement dans la lignée de Project A mais ce n'est finalement pas le cas, d'où une certaine déception dans mon cas. J'ai aimé le film, mais pas en tant que suite.
Au chapitre des déceptions :
- l'absence de Sammo Hung et de Yuen Biao,
- la présence anecdotique de Hoi San Kwan (capitaine Chi) et de Wing-Yi Wong (Winnie),
- un film au ton globalement plus sérieux que le précédent.
Paradoxalement le doublage français, ici de bien meilleure qualité, fait regretter celui du premier qui participait à son charme.

Moi j'ai adoré, c'est sûr que c'est plus vraiment du Project a, et on est loin du film d'aventure, mais j'adore l'humour et les scènes d'actions, et je me suis pas ennuyé devant, c'est l'essentiel.

Déçue totalement non. Même si le casting féminin est très agréable, à cette époque ni Maggie, ni Rosamund (ici en version Brigitte Lin), ni Carina n'avaient totalement forgé leurs personnalités cinématographiques (au contraire de Sammo et Biao dans le premier film), il peine à nous charmer autant que le casting du précédent film.
Vous me direz que les persos féminins dans un film de Jackie sont rarement remarquables (sauf Anita Mui dans "Miracles") ou s'ils le sont c'est aussi du à d'autres (Liu Chia-liang ou Stanley Tong), mais comparativement parlant, il a su se servir de l'image de Lily Li dans "The young master" car c'était une actrice qui était arrivée à sa maturité. Même si Lily n'y a pas un rôle primordial, on se souvient de son "flamenco-kung fu".
Ce qui m'avait moins emballé, c'est que ce ne soit plus un film de pirates, même si le premier ne l'était qu'à sa deuxième partie. Les gardes-côtes seuls façon "Alerte à Hong Kong", tout de suite, ça le fait moins.
