Last Thursday, Kung-fu cinema scholar Linn Haynes was tragically killed in a car accident. He was only 33 years old. He was a wealth a knowledge on the subject of H-K martial art cinema which he spread through writing (with among others liner notes of DVD releases most notably Seven Great Masters ) and the internet through being a hugely prolific and informative contributer with both the Mobius and Kung-Fu fandom websites. He work for years on a movie book but sadly he suffered through a bad setback when his computer crashed following a thunderstorm and lost his manuscript, several years ago.

While Linn Haynes did not contributes to this website, he might but known by some of us here. He help me greatly in the early 2000, with his infos, encouragements and occasinal DVD exchanges. While we had drifted apart for some time now, I have preserve all his E mail to me in my archives, and I look forward to read them again eventually now that he is gone. His premature death is both a tragedy and a huge loss for us of the H-K movies/Kung-fu Fandom.

Tributes to Linn Hanes can be seen at the website he contributesd most:

I paid my respects on KFF, but no matter how late I feel I should do so here. He quite honestly was an encyclopedia, and I may not have known him for long but I could tell that he was truly passionate about HK martial arts cinema and I'm glad he got to record a commentary.. if only one.
He'll be missed, and he already is.
